Hi there,
I gotta come up and visit your fair city in the next couple of weeks. (busy checking flights/budget/etc now...)
I want to check out your University up there and look at accomodations/jobs etc. for a few days.
Questions:
Do I need a rental car- or is your town pretty good with public transport? or is the distance between things such that I can walk?
Where's the cheepest place to stay? any advice. of course i'm looking up places but thought hey- couldn't hurt to ask.
How's the Rent up there? and is there a good online source for checking out this info? Are there areas of town to just AVOID no matter the cost?
places that are a must see?
any other advice? how's your job market there? is everyone looking or lots to choose from or bout average?
whats your weather right now. i'm sure its just f'n Cold and your now angry i even brought it up like there could be a difference in the middle of january.
alrighty, any advice, (except "don't come" i guess) is welcome and Greatly Appreciated. I don't know a soul there. I don't even know anyone who's been there for that matter. its been hard to ask around.
Thanx all,
Trish

In my opinion the public transport is fair for getting about the Ann arbor and neighboring cities.
>>>Where's the cheepest place to stay? any advice. of course i'm looking up places but thought hey- couldn't hurt to ask. <<<
There is nothing cheap here; It all depends on what is you expectations are?
>>>How's the Rent up there? and is there a good online source for checking out this info? Are there areas of town to just AVOID no matter the cost?<<<
The rent is pricy to say the least a lot of people live outside the city for cheaper rents with a close access to the Bus System. I think there is a place next to my fathers that rent out a room for about $400 to 500 a month near City Hall / Police Station.
>>>places that are a must see?<<<
It is more like events. However I suggest the Arboretum, Science Museum, “The Cube,” and the Michigan theater for starters
>>>any other advice? how's your job market there? is everyone looking or lots to choose from or bout average?<<<
Below Average, but try and get a University Job
>>>whats your weather right now. i'm sure its just f'n Cold and your now angry i even brought it up like there could be a difference in the middle of january. <<<
Currently you can’t tell one week from another if it is Spring, Fall, or Winter. But we just received a batch of freshly fallen snow last night. -
