This group is a replacement for Ann Arbor FreeCycle. I was the original founder of the freecycle list in Ann Arbor but I have some problems with the way Freecycle is run. It strikes me as being a franchise and not a grasroots movement like it claims to be. So if you freecycled before I hope we can get treecycle going.

Re: Ann Arbor Tree Cycle
Tue, March 6, 2007 - 2:08 PMAnn Arbor's original freecycle group left "The Freecycle Network" (TFN) a couple years ago. TFN is the corporate entity that has gotten in the way of the original grassroots spirit of freecycling, and has so many of the original members all up in arms about it. When the Ann Arbor group left TFN, they became Ann Arbor e-Cycle, and currently have over 5,000 members and are a very active group. To join or learn more, their Yahoo group is groups.yahoo.com/group/AnnArbor_eCycle/
TFN created a replacement group when Ann Arbor eCycle left the network, but it's not as good as the original (I'm a member of both). Just my two cents.
